Unichip - Is anyone here using one ?

Postby wasifahmed » Tue Feb 02, 2010 10:25 am

Guys.

I want ot hear from anyone who has actually installed a Unichip on their FJ and can comment on the gains and practicality of it. They are offering a roadspeed limiter removal option too.

How does it compare with the URD MAF caliberator, which one is better in terms of power gains and economy.

Do you need to get the Unichip custom tuned to get the best out of it or if the manufacturer tunes it for the specific intake and exaust on your car it is OK.

Hi ED,

I just spent at least half an hour of my time writing a post on how to improve this forum and criticising some of the things that I believe are dragging this forum down. But then I just erased the whole post before submitting it as I cannot be bothered to get into any arguements with anyone on here.
I hope you do not cancel this forum because it has become another home for the 20 or 30 active members on here that regularly frequent this site even without commenting. If the issue is a money issue for the upkeep of the site I will gladly chip in towards the costs of it and I am sure there will be others that will to.

If you are interested in hearing my ideas and constructive criticism then just let me know.

Regards,
BANANA.

Totally agree with Banana & Wasif regarding contribution.

FJ UAE needs to play a bigger role just as the others in the market do...and I wouldnt mind being a part to make it successful. Afterall its just not offroading thats there as passion, its actually FJing thats there in the soul...

So lets just discuss matters out and be transparent...!!!

My UNICHP came in yesterday and have installed it. There is some performance increase immediately noticeable.

I was wondering what would it do to fuel economy, if i can have a custom map installed for low end torque to use exclusively off road.

Will this addition be construed as someting that voids the warrenty.

Where can I take it to get the thing custom tuned and to get it dynoed to see what are the actual gains.
